Forager's Feast - a Wild, Winter Banquet

This January, we hosted a truly special evening at Eight at Gazegill – our Winter Forager’s Feast. It was all about celebrating the wild and wonderful flavours of Lancashire, with an incredible menu crafted by our Chef Patron Doug Crampton and foraging expert Craig Worrall.


Following the success of our first Forager’s Feast back in October 2024, this second instalment took things up a notch. We treated guests to another multi-course tasting menu featuring the best of winter’s wild ingredients – think wild venison and duck with preserved summer fruits, and cake infused with foraged seeds. Every dish was a little nod to the land, the coastline, the season, and the art of preservation.



Speaking about the menu, Doug summed it up perfectly: “We wanted to create something that really connects people with nature. Working with Craig lets us take wild ingredients and turn them into something unforgettable.”


Craig added, “Blending wild and non-wild flavours is like magic – it’s always exciting to see how they come together on the plate.”


This adults-only evening was all about sharing great food with great company in a relaxed, intimate setting. If you joined us, we hope you loved it as much as we did! But you don't need to take our word for it, our lovely guests shared some reviews following the event:
