On Friday 15th May, our team at Eight at Gazegill hosted a very special charity fundraising evening in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association — and thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our guests, supporters and wider community, we are incredibly proud to say we smashed our £8,000 fundraising target.
The evening brought together guests, local businesses, friends, family and supporters for a heartfelt night of food, fundraising, remembrance and hope. It was an emotional and uplifting evening filled with kindness, generosity and an incredible sense of community spirit.
Guests enjoyed a four-course dinner alongside raffles, auction prizes, games, music and personal speeches, with prizes generously donated by both local and national businesses.

The event was organised by Eight at Gazegill General Manager Kimberley Talbot, Assistant Restaurant Manager Ramune Vorobjova and Charity Organiser & Friend Cath Spendlove. The fundraising journey continues by taking part in the Lakes Ultra Challenge in just two weeks time in aid of the MND Association. Roughly 6 people are diagnosed with MND every single day, and the support shown in that room will make a genuine difference to those affected and their families.
Speaking after the event, Kimberley said:
“It still doesn’t feel real. We are exhausted, emotional and incredibly grateful. The support from our guests, suppliers, local businesses, friends and community has been overwhelming. The room was full of love that evening, and to know we’ve not only reached but smashed our fundraising target for the MND Association means everything to us.”
As part of their ongoing fundraising efforts, the team have also launched “Kilometres in Honour,” an initiative allowing supporters to sponsor individual kilometres of the upcoming Lakes Challenge in memory or honour of loved ones affected by MND.
Each sponsored name will be printed onto their race shirts, ensuring those remembered will carry them forward every single step of the way.

More than 25 kilometres have already been sponsored.
Ramune added:
“When things get tough during the challenge, those names will remind us why we’re doing it. Every kilometre represents somebody loved, remembered and never forgotten.”
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to every guest, donor, supplier and supporter who contributed towards the success of the evening, as well as everybody who donated raffle prizes, purchased tickets, shared kind words and helped create such a special atmosphere.
Situated on our organic farm in the Ribble Valley, Eight at Gazegill is proud to continue supporting meaningful causes within our community alongside our sustainable farm-to-fork ethos and recently awarded Michelin Green Star recognition.
