Eight at Gazegill: The ONLY Lancashire Finalist in the VisitEngland Awards 2025!

We’ve Made It! Eight at Gazegill is a National Finalist – and the Only One from Lancashire!

We got some incredible news this week – and trust us, it’s a big one! Eight at Gazegill has officially been named a national finalist in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025! And guess what? We’re the ONLY finalist from Lancashire! That’s right – out of all the amazing hospitality businesses across the country, we’re flying the flag for our beautiful county on the national stage.

What This Means for Us (and for You!)

The VisitEngland Awards are pretty much the pinnacle of appreciation for the tourism world – recognising the very best in quality, innovation, and unforgettable customer experiences. With over 350 local winners competing across 16 categories, making it to the group of 48 finalists is no small feat. As the winners of the New Business category at the Lancashire Tourism Awards, we automatically were included in the running for New Tourism Business of the Year category, which celebrates businesses that are making a real impact in the industry.

So what happens next? On Wednesday 4 June 2025, we’ll be heading to the stunning Brighton Dome, Corn Exchange, where we’ll find out whether we’ve won gold, silver, or bronze. No matter the result, we’re beyond proud to have made it this far – and we couldn’t have done it without YOU, our amazing guests and supporters!

Lancashire on the National Stage

Being the only Lancashire finalist in the VisitEngland Awards is a huge deal for us. It shows that small, independent businesses – especially those rooted in sustainability and local produce – can hold their own against the best in the country.

Lancashire has an incredible food scene, and we’re so proud to represent it at a national level. Our ethos of farm-to-fork dining, organic ingredients, and seasonal foraging has resonated with so many of you, and this recognition proves that what we’re doing matters.

A Huge Thank You

This is a moment to celebrate, and we couldn’t have done it without our incredible team.

Our Chef Patron, Doug Crampton and his kitchen brigade deserve recognition for elevating Lancashire's food scene to new heights by bringing our food ethos to a new generation of conscientious diners and reinforcing our connection to the land through the dishes they create.

We want to thank our Front of House team, headed up by Kimberley Talbot, our Restaurant General Manager, who always deliver a warm Lancashire welcome and constantly strive to offer excellent hospitality to every guest who comes through our doors.

And of course thanks must go to you, our loyal customers, friends and supporters. Every meal you’ve enjoyed, every kind word you’ve shared, and every recommendation you’ve made has helped us get to this point – and for that, we’re truly grateful.

Now, it’s time to soak up the excitement and look forward to the big night in June. Whatever happens, we’ll be raising a glass (or maybe a locally brewed pint!) to all of you who have helped make this journey so special.
