a week we will never forget: Michelin & visit Lancashire wins

What a week it was for all of us at Eight at Gazegill.

We are beyond proud to share that we have been awarded a Michelin Green Star by the Michelin Guide, alongside taking home two major accolades at the Visit Lancashire Tourism Awards. Including Taste Lancashire and the Regenerative Tourism Award.

It’s hard to put into words what this means to our team, our farm, and our wider Gazegill family.

A Green Michelin Star

The Michelin Green Star is awarded to restaurants at the forefront of sustainable gastronomy. Those leading the way in ethical practices, environmental responsibility and meaningful change within hospitality.

For us, this recognition celebrates what has always been at the heart of Eight at Gazegill:

  • Organic, regenerative farming on the Gazegill farm

  • Farm-to-Plate menus designed around what is grown and reared just metres from the kitchen

  • Rare breed livestock and heritage varieties

  • An off-grid restaurant powered almost completely by wind, solar and a generator running on repurposed kitchen oil

  • Low-waste cooking and thoughtful sourcing

  • Locally made crockery produced in small batches y a Lancashire artisan

Sustainability for us is not a trend. It is our foundation.

To stand alongside other Green Star recipients across the UK is an incredible honour, and one that belongs to every single member of our team.

Celebrating Lancashire: Taste and Regenerative Tourism Wins

Just days after Dublin, we found ourselves at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool for the Visit Lancashire Tourism Awards, celebrating the very best of our county’s hospitality, tourism and visitor experiences.

To win Taste Lancashire is a huge accolade in a county rich with exceptional food businesses. Lancashire has an extraordinary food heritage, and to be recognised as a leading culinary destination here means everything.

Winning the Regenerative Tourism Award feels particularly special. Regeneration is not just about reducing harm, it’s about actively improving the land, the community and the future of food. It reflects the work being done on the farm, in the kitchen and throughout the business to ensure that Eight at Gazegill leaves a positive footprint.

A Team Effort, Always

Awards nights may shine a spotlight, but the real work happens every single day.

From early mornings on the farm, to careful prep in the kitchen, to the warm welcome you receive at the door. These achievements belong to the entire team. It is their passion, resilience and belief in what we are building that makes recognition like this possible.

We are also deeply grateful to our guests. Your support, your trust in our menus, your kind words and recommendations. You are part of this journey too.

What This Means for 2026

These awards are not a finish line. They are motivation.

We remain committed to:

  • Championing regenerative farming

  • Refining our seasonal tasting experiences

  • Elevating our guest journey

  • Continuing to innovate in sustainable hospitality

Eight at Gazegill was built on a simple but powerful idea, that food should tell the story of the land it comes from. This week has shown us that story is being heard.

We are incredibly proud. Incredibly grateful. And more determined than ever.

Here’s to the next chapter.
